posted 24/10/05: Summer Internships in France - Summer 2006
A number of internships in French companies may be offered to students in French during the summer 2006. Interested students are invited to attend an introductory talk to learn more about the scheme and the method of application.
Speaker : François Noudelmann, University of Paris VIII.
Jean-Paul Sartre, a thinker of inter-subjectivity, avoided the question and even the notion of fraternity although he was dealing with the relationships between the ego and the Other. But after the Second world war, he progressively built a theory about the self-institution of a brotherhood. Therefore, Sartre used genealogical paradigms and a counter-myth to understand how, in a collective struggle, feelings of freedom, of recognition and of solidarity may emerge. This paper focuses on the way Sartre tried to break down kinship models in his social thought by inventing a mythical community of people who are both brothers and sons of nobody.
Professor Noudelmann is the author of several books on Sartre.
This seminar is co-organized by the HKU Dpt of Philosophy and the Alliance Française de Hong Kong.
A French teacher is now available once weekly to all students in French for consultation, guidance and advice. Feel free to come and ask any question related to your learning of French at the following time and venue :
