Featuring some 180 items selected from the collections of the Musée Carnavalet – Histoire de Paris and the Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris, the exhibition "French Revolutions" focuses on the various political upheavals and social unrest that took place in France between 1789 and 1871.

The exhibition will be displayed from the 17th December 2008 to the 16th March 2009 at the Hong Kong Museum of History.

The 37th edition of the Hong Kong French Film Festival will take place from December 2 to December 14 this year. The Festival is presented by the Alliance Française of Hong Kong.

French Management and Business Schools rank very high, according to a recent report from World Economic Forum (WEF) published by the Financial Times

The Financial Times, in its “European business school ranking 2007”, ranks some 14 French academic establishments among the 60 European schools in its study. This ranking represents a synthesis of all the academic business program scoreboards – Masters in Management, MBA, EMBA, executive education. The French HEC business school is ranked in 1st place in Europe. Overall, five French schools are ranked among the Top-15.

Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau

France assumed the Presidency of the Council of the European Union on July 1, 2008 and will retain it until December 31, 200. During his presentation, which will take the form of an interactive discussion, Mr. Ramage will examine the following questions: What is Europe? What is the definition of Europe? What is the European definition based on? Religion? Geography? History? Values? Political, social values? What does it mean to be European?

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session during which Mr. Ramage will also touch on the challenges facing France and French society today.

This talk is organized with the support of the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau and is held as part of The University of Hong Kong’s Broadening Course YLAN0005: An Introduction to France and the Francophone World.

This year again, the Belgium-Hong Kong Society is inviting applications from Hong Kong students for a scholarship of EUR 11,640 (around HK$ 132,700) to undertake a one-year Masters Programme in European Studies in 2009-2010 at the College of Europe in Bruges, which is situated 90 km from Brussels.

The Musée Guimet - Paris, was founded in 1879 by Emile Guimet (1836-1918) to showcase the fruits of the grand expeditions that this industrialist from Lyon undertook to the Far East, the Musée Guimet is now home to one of the largest collections of Asian art and civilization outside Asia.
