Born in 1992, Elisa Shua Dusapin is a celebrated Franco-Korean author known for her sparse, atmospheric prose. Growing up between France, South Korea, and Switzerland, her work often explores themes of identity, estrangement, and the delicate boundaries between cultures.
She gained international acclaim for her debut novel, Winter in Sokcho, which won the 2021 National Book Award for Translated Literature. Her subsequent novels, including The Pachinko Parlour and The Old Fire, continue to delve into human connections through a minimalist lens. Dusapin writes in French, with her works frequently translated into English.
